East Midlands Regional Senior
Club Team Championships 2014
The competition was held at New College Leicester.
The event is to find the best Senior and Junior Club across our Region.
Entry is open to all clubs in the East Midlands.
Hinckley & Burbage have been the junior champions for the last three years. This year due to a couple of injury’s and children moving up to the senior level the club was unable to enter a junior team. So the pressure was on the senior team.
The Gymnasts started the competition well on Bars and moved round to their next piece of apparatus the Beam. During the warm up Charlotte Law had a nasty fall and only had a few minutes to regain her confidence before she had to perform. Her routine went well and boosted the team’s moral. The last two pieces were Floor and Vault where the girls dominated with Leah Parkins leading the team forward with a tremendous pike tsukahara vault with no movement on her landing and a superb floor routine.
Our team came 1st winning by just under five clear points 138.350pts. Second place was Nottingham 133.517pts with Coalville taking the bronze 132.483pts.

Head Coach Sharon Thomas said “For Regional gymnastics this is the premier club event of the year. I can only say it is a great result for the club and everybody involved. It’s not just the gymnasts on the day that make this possible it’s the hard work from all the coaching team ( Coaches, Judges, volunteers and Chorographer )
We hope that with great results like this the younger gymnasts at the club will be inspired to continue the success.
