Leicestershire Level 7, 6 individual apparatus championships

 

 

The competition was held in Leicester at new college. It was the first competition of 2011 and what a great turn out of gymnasts from across the county with 100 competitors taking part.

 

Once again Hinckley & Burbage had a strong presence with 36 gymnasts from the club competing for the medals.

 

Today’s event was to find the best gymnasts on each piece of apparatus. Gymnasts are split into age groups and ability. Level 7 is for beginners and level 6 for gymnasts gaining the pass mark from last year to move up from level 7.

 

 

 

Level 7 was the first competition of the day. This was for many gymnasts their first ever competition.  The gymnasts coped well with pre competition nerves and remained focused on the job they had to do.

 

The girls all performed their routines well. The large crowd were fastened to there seats awaiting the results. The Hinckley & Burbage gymnasts did very well picking up medals across all age groups and each piece of equipment.

Olivia  1^st on Vault, Maesie  1^st on Bars & 1^st on Beam and

 

Ellie  winning a medal on each piece 3^rd on Beam, 2^nd on Vault, 2^nd on Bars and 1^st on Floor.

 

 

 

Age 12+

 

Lucy  also winning medals on all pieces 3^rd on Beam, 2^nd on Floor and Vault and 1^st on Bars.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Level 6 started after lunch. Hinckley & Burbage had 10 gymnasts across the age groups. Many of the girls had performed last year but still some as nervous as the first timers. Again the gymnasts did very well picking up many medals.
